Hooorayyy! Stacey's story finally finished editing.
- We fixed the jump cuts, sound and title length.
- and also move around the order of the happy ending to later as a summing up of her life now, rather than putting her happy present and her sad past of lack responsibility as a mom together.
- We still keep the defocused part and snap shot photo in the end but took off the focusing back part. Besides, we fixed the camera sound in the end, makes it louder and clearer, in order to show the snap shot idea more clearly, as well as added in the footage of she and neighborhood kids sitting together with credits.
It has been a long journey for me, from the beginning of filming till now. My previous group work for film or tv, I'm usually doing producer's job, the editing part is where i seldom touch on, the time that I touched on it, was only fixing the minor changes.
This is the first time that I do both camera and editing. It is definitely a great opportunity for me to learn new things, and seeing things from different perspectives. For example, now I fully understand the carefulness of zoom in/out, the adequate cutaways and the importance of steady wide shots can make a lot of differences to a film.
I'm glad I have opportunity to practical develop my media skills in my last semester. Although it has put on my workload (especially the rest 3 courses I'm doing this semester are all core subjects), I'm still contended with the time and efforts I spent on it.
