Editing progress

Editing was progress slowly because of my shaky and often zoom in and out shots...i think. Editing our story is really not like what it was like... too many shots I could have done better.

Although the editing have occupied most of my time, it was still fun and contended when i see the progress and changes in the end. At least I know our story is gradually forming to a fine cut version.

I really learn a lot from this project as being a DOP and a editor. After seeing all the footages and done most of the editing i really feel that to catch a nice shot and to frame each shot nicely and organised is HARD!

Making a documentary is like making a drama, they both needed to be planned before hand, and documentary even need more actually...(from my point of view as being a DOP) I think i didn't plan well enough before I go for the shooting, such as I didn't plan and think that how each shots can be connected and how they can possibly or easily be cut to next shots.

I realized a lot of mistakes i made during the shooting when I was doing the editing, although it's a bit late...

Doing both DOP and editor really make me learn a lot more than just being one, I wouldn't reaslize how difficult it is I made for the editing if i didn't do the editing and only be a DOP. I wouldn't have deeper and greater idea of shooting the cutaway and the cinematography if I'm only doing DOP, without actually editing. I wouldn't know I often ZOOM IN and ZOOM OUT, as well as panning!!!!!!!

OMG! Too many ZOOM IN AND ZOOM OUT, TOO MANY PAN! I'm like a overactive DOP........=_=

Well, good lesson always comes from the mistakes. (That's the least I can do to make myself feel better lol)
