I found today's lecture useful in terms of those little tips for the editing, such as the overlaped audio and visual sometimes can place the audio ahead for audience to create a image in their head first before they saw the exact visual, and in this way which will make the story more comprehensive i think.
We still haven't finish our rough cut yet, although we have been doing editing since last week. The editing for our story is hard because there are too different stories going on with our main character, Stacey. Honestly, it's really hard for us to compress everything into 5-7 minutes time.
We often stucked on the easy or probably silly technical points, such as the unfamiliar with the short cut of each key. we only know the basic keys such as copy, cut and paste or play, forward, and rewind. but we don't really know the short cut to shows the audio wave or the short cut of changing different tools. Therefore, it actually takes longer that we though.
After we started our editing session, I finally understand how inconvenient and how bad it is to do the zoom in and out. Soemtimes, I just want to insert a bit of Stacey doing houseworks but unfortunately it was too shaky and sometimes zoom in and out, which just won't be able to put in.
Ahh,....regreting... but well at least I'll definitely remember next time (if there's a next time)
So far, we finished the first two parts (mirror sequence and scare squence), still got two more to go. Hopefully we will be able to finish it by Wednesday because everytime we looked back and watch the whole footage, we will go back and do some more changes in the previous sequence, try to make it more flow, which takes more time.....
