Overall, our event went smoothly last night, although the numbers of patients who turns up is way too less than we expected. (but in fact, in On Track@ peter Mac's previous event, the number of patients turning up is actually above the average already!)
Having Jimeoin in the event is definitely the climax of our event, and I'm so glad we have him, as well as those raffle prizes on the night.
The following is a brief schedule of the event last night:
7pm - people start to coming
830pm - Jimeoin's comedy show
9pm - Raffle prizes giveaway
930-945pm -event finish
7pm was the opening time we planned and put on the posters/invites, but even before 7pm we've already got four tickets solddd! which is totally exciting and a big encourage for us!
Our excellent prizes did attract people to purchase raffle tickets, and which in the end become the essential that enable us to cover our cost. :)
I'm contended and pleased that the time and efforts I put in is kinda returned in some way. I'm contented because the event finally went well, the venue is just right and suitable for our event, and people attended seems quite enjoyed the night. (at least they all got belly laughs and gifts on the night)
Especially during the raffling, I'm glad to see people's big smile, which made me feel what I've done for getting the sponsorship and all the preparations before the event is totally worthy. The times that me and kim spent on going through the shops one by one, trying to persuade them face to face, the time that I was be on tenterhooks, worrying about if no one reply and the hours that I have been spending on calling and emailing are all worthy at the moment. :)
From my perspective, as one of the organisers, I know we could have done better, in terms of getting more patients attended, and unnecessary spending and better atmosphere, but overall i think we have all done a great job! There were even appr. $100 left in the end! The money will be going to On Track@ Peter Mac as donation. This is very excited for me because we finally manage to cover the cost in the end and even got extra to donate for a good cause.
The event has finished but the project is actually not yet finished for me. I still have a short film of our event need to edit and finish by next week, ohh as well as our evaluation report.
